The Região de Turismo Planície Dourada is rich in cultural heritage, whether architectonic or ethnographic, so we suggest here several routes that help discover a little of what the region has to offer.

For a better understanding of this region we divide it into four areas with different features:

the Campo Branco (White Lands), the Lands of Bread and Wine, the Left Bank of the Guadiana river, and Beja – Queen of the Plain.

Visiting the Lands of Bread and Wine is getting to know the municipalities in which the wine production marks the landscape and the way of life. We propose in this route a visit to Alvito, Vidigueira, Cuba and Ferreira do Alentejo .

The Left Bank of the Guadiana river includes the municipalities of Moura, Barrancos, Serpa and Mértola.

Campo Branco – Campo Branco (White Lands) is the name given to an area that includes aproximately the districts of Aljustrel, Almodôvar, Ourique and Castro Verde.

Beja – Beja, the roman Pax Julia, is the main city of the region and is worth taking time.

Beja two equipments may help you to discover the city: the municipality has bycicles to cycle in the historic centre that may be picked up at the Tourist Office, the City Hall (Câmara Municipal) and Casa da Cultura; on the other hand, with the headphones "Sons do Tempo" you'll listen to explanations about the history and monuments that you pass by or visit, these headphones may be picked up at the Tourist Office, the Museum, the Castle and the Pousada.
